Summer Vacation!

Whew! We're wrapping up a busy school year here with graduations, and last minute teaching schedule changes to get everyone ready for music camps.

If your child is attending a summer music camp, we know you'll do a great job as their "support staff", keeping them well fed, rested, and recreated.

We'll be back in a few weeks with two new articles:
"Creating a Great Music Practice Environment for Your Child"
"How to Praise Your Child During Instrument Practice"

In the meantime, we've listed plenty of rainy day music explorations with the kid approved sites on the right, and inspiration for exhausted parents below that ;-)

Happy Trails!

  1. Thanks for the links. Holidays are an idea time to catch up and also to explore new practice areas. I always set something a little different for my students during vacation. As short list is here: http://www.howtopractise.com/?q=content/Holiday-practice-projects

  3. Dear Francine--Isaiah just spontaneously whipped out his violin for a morning go at the Becker and you would have been thrilled to hear the improvement after the week's work at GMSI. I dream of dropping up to Bristol from time to time during the year, not that our schedules have any flexibility but who knows... FYI, I started a Friends of Green Mountain Suzuki Institute FB group. I hope you'll consider joining. Love, Rosie & co.

  4. Rosie- It's great to hear that Isaiah is inspired to play after the week of music camp! It's amazing how much can happen in just a week when there is a chance to focus on just a few aspects of playing. It's been really fun to watch how much Isaiah has matured in his playing from a few years ago when he first came to GMSI! If you ever have time in your schedule to visit me in Bristol, it would be great to see you! I will check out your Friends of GMSI on Facebook and join up. Hope you all have a great summer! Love,Francine

  5. Thank you for the links. Btw, I just want to share great news about the upcoming release of Farm Friends iPhone apps for children, it will keep younger kids entertained while learning something new about the world. http://bit.ly/JUrM9
